Your perception creates the reality you live
The less I complain, the more I realise how pointless complaining actually is and how integrated and normalised it is in our society. And this afternoon, I found myself thinking, “Why do I actually complain if this is the reality of the world, and there's not much that I can do to change it?” But that's not true at all.
I am the one who decides how I choose to see life. I am the one who decides what reality I live in and how I experience the world. If I choose to always focus on the dark side, on everything that has gone wrong, that's what I will receive. If I choose to focus on the positive sides of life and everything that has gone right, that's what I will receive.
Two people can go through the exact same experience, and how they're perceiving that experience can be completely different depending on how they see the world.
You can decide to see everything around you through black-tinted glasses, and everything will look dark and looming. Or you can decide to look at the world through yellow-tinted glasses, and everything will seem much brighter and lighter.
What the world is moving through is still the same, but how you're perceiving it has completely changed. And this doesn't mean that you're ignoring everything that's happening out there in the world.
You can be conscious and aware of everything that's not going right and still choose to look at the positive side of life. You can hold that duality
Our reality can be drastically different depending on how we choose to perceive the world around us.
We are the ones who choose how we experience this world, how we experience this reality, at every single moment in time.
This is not avoidance, this is not ignoring what we don’t want to see. We’re aware of it, and we accept it, and we choose not to let it frame and dictate how we move.
You can see everything that's not working well and decide to do everything you can to make it better, AND choose to keep looking at the bright side of life. Decide that you're gonna focus on everything that has gone right and not everything that has gone wrong.
