Why You’re Stuck in Situations You Don’t Want to Live

YOUR MIND IS SELLING YOU A MILLION STORIES, AND YOU’RE UNCONSCIOUSLY BUYING THEM ALL.

That is exactly what's keeping you stuck in situations, experiences and a life you don't want to live.

Here's a personal example:

In my early 20s, I craved deep, meaningful relationships, and I was truly failing hard at it. Each time I’d hang out with someone, or I had the opportunity to actually deepen a friendship that I already had, I would just either run away from it, push them away or sabotage that opportunity in some shape, way or form.

I was rejecting the thing that I craved the most.

I was aware of the dynamic, and I was even aware of some beliefs that I had around it, but I was not seeing that there was a deeper narrative underneath it all. The story that my mind was selling me was “don't get close to anyone ever again, and you will never be hurt and betrayed again”. And I was buying it every single time.

These types of stories are created based on situations you've experienced or generational and past-life events that you're carrying with you.

𖥧 If you have been betrayed in the past, your subconscious will try to avoid betrayal at all costs.

𖥧 If your heart has been broken in the past, your subconscious will put an invisible shield around it.

𖥧 And if stepping into your power was a real danger for you in a past life, your subconscious will sabotage all progress towards it in this lifetime.

Anything that feels like a threat, big or small, it'll try to neutralise it. And what better way to do it than tell you really tasty, delicious stories that sound too good to say no to? But it's a trap, a trick, and I want you to stop falling for it.

Spot the stories your mind is telling you. I promise this is happening behind these scenes all the time. And stop yourself before you buy them. Because you may be saying to, for example, never experiencing hurt and betrayal ever again. But you're also saying yes to never experiencing deep, meaningful relationships. And that is not the type of life you want to live.

Your subconscious is here to keep you safe, not to see you thrive. And it’s doing a pretty good damn job.

Each time you buy one of those stories (or keep buying them repeatedly), you’re saying yes to never experiencing that thing that hurt you the most, or the one that scares you the most, but you’re also saying no to experiencing the thing that you crave and desire the most.

It’s a double-edged sword.

We can’t avoid those stories from coming, nor do we want to (they’re there to keep us safe and shed light on everything that’s unhealed), but we can decide if we want to keep living life from them.

Next time a tasty, delicious story that you can’t say no to comes through, I want you to do it anyway.

Say no.

Rewire the story with each decision.

And start creating the life you truly want to live.
