Move Without Knowing How
AND TEACH YOUR BODY HOW TO FEEL SAFE IN THE UNKNOWN
In this society that’s obsessed with information, we’ve gotten used to having all the data before moving. We gather all the pieces, plan our way through everything and just when we know how everything’s going to unfold, we move. Not sooner than that, don’t you dare take a step without knowing everything (*eye roll*).
“How are you going to do it? How is that going to work? Where are you going to go? Have you checked that? Who’s going to help you with that? Do you know how to do that?” (sigh)
Isn’t it tiring not to trust the Universe to guide you through life? Or even yourself?
And don’t worry, if society isn’t involved in this, your subconscious definitely is. We’re wired for survival, and control equals safety. If we’re safe, we’re alive. And more often than not, that sense of safety comes from knowing as much as possible. It’s just an illusion, but it makes us stay stuck in that loop of needing to know more.
“I might need to take another course on this. I need to make sure I have all the information for this other thing. I can’t quit this job before having a 5-year plan on how I’m going to move forward…”
You get the drill.
The truth is, we don’t need any of that. And the more you feed that loop, the more difficult it’s going to be to get out of it.
We’re never going to reach a point where we feel that we know enough, that we’re ready to move. We’re always going to feel that we need to know more. But being ready is not a state, it’s a decision. And you can decide that you’re ready and move, even without guarantees, information or evidence. Or you can decide that you’re not ready and stay stuck where you are for the rest of your life.
Your choice.
The only way to show your subconscious (or society and everyone around you) that it’s okay not to have all the information, that you’re not going to die if you try something without knowing how it’s going to unfold, is to actually do it. Without the data, without knowing how. Today, right now.
You have to teach your body that it’s safe to loosen that grip of control. That moving without knowing is not a certain death. That wonderful things can happen even without the evidence. That even if you feel like you’re dying, you’re not.
Trust yourself, your resilience and your capacity to make things happen.
And trust the Universe, because no matter what society keeps telling us, our life is a co-creation, you’re not alone on this.
You are supported. The Universe is plotting for your success (however that looks like for you). And you have all the guidance you need. You just need to start trusting and take the leap.
Start today. Start right now. You don’t need anything else.
When in doubt, close your eyes and listen to your heart. Count the beats. You’re alive.
When in fear, take a deep breath and come back to your body. Feel the earth beneath your feet. You’re safe.
And when in confusion, get out in nature and let the air clear your head. The fog will shift. You’re right where you need to be.
